Forgive me for the long over due recap for 2008. I've had this entry saved on my drafts since december 2008  and i've been really out of words ever since. LoL. This is part one of my 2008, Theres another one on the way..

Initially, i thought of linking them to their respective blog entries on my LJ/blogger, but then again, maybe not. So I linked them to their respective photo albums on my multiply instead. Enjoy.

Here we go my EIGHT things in ZERO EIGHT.

ONE: NURSING.

28, 924 pass licensure exam for nurses

In december 2007, i took the NLE, it took almost 3 months of pure agony  for the results to be released but it was indeed worth the wait, because not only did I pass the dreaded exam, i actually got a pretty high score. It wasn't a top ten score but, i was just a few points shy away from the 10th Place, and the fact that it was way above the 80 general average i was aiming for, I'm actually proud of myself.

I took my Oath on April 2008 and at the same time got pinned and then rededicated my life (yeah right! haha) to nursing profession, that did not actually exist until december 2008 after finally getting my license in cebu in november.

other nursing related stuffs: first part of the year i assisted in brain and spine surgeries, successfully inserted IVs after undergoing the IVT training, APCAS 2008, thought about volunteering but screw the idea because of delayed release of our prc license.

TWO: TRAVEL.

For the past 3 years, I've been deprived of leisure travel mainly because I still had school. With school out of the way in the first half of the year, and even with school for the first semester, i did manage to go to different places.. It was the type that I could just get up and go without worrying too much about missing something while I was away.

It started with the Ilocos trip I had with DJ in Febraury, It was a week long invasion of the metro and the north. In a span of 7 days we were in Manila , IlocosBaguio and Pangasinan

In March, i joined my high school friends/ new RNs for a day trip to Baguio to supposedly get our board ratings but unfortunately for me, PRC only had records for the Baguio takers. They said that I should get my records to where i took my exam, Cebu! - not entirely a bad idea.

So just a few weeks after, I was in Cebu to process my PRC papers with my mom who refused to let me travel alone because of my unpredictable asthmatic attacks that almost killed me a few days prior.

The first week of april was spent in dumaguete for our oath taking/ pinning. It was my first comebacksince i left in december 2007. I was pretty Nostalgic the whole time,  i wished i was staying for good, but then again maybe not! It was nice bonding with everybody again.

Just a week after coming home from dumaguete, i flew to dipolog with my parents for my cousin' wedding in dapitan. We missed to join the rest of the relatives for the scheduled island hopping the following day but we did manage to explore the city of dapitan and rizal's 'estate' that morning before we left for cebu to get my prc papers and at the same time meet up with thalia, joel and his underaged friend.

Just as i thought that that would be my last getaway for the summer, here comes dj txting me one summer day, telling me about a boracay getaway. So dj,jc,jia and i were off to bora for a few days and then dropping by iloilo to meet some brods and sis. i figured that I was in that part of the country any way, i decided to take a side trip to dumaguete instead of going home via Caticlan or Iloilo.

In september, i ditched 2 weeks of school to go to the US with my family. This was my first out of the country trip in three/four years, so I didn't let this one pass. Especially that the trip's itinerary included a trip to  NEW YORK CITY. No way, no how! We were there for five days with a side trip to New Jersey to visit some distant relatives.  It wasn't the best New York trip due to super avoidable circumstances, but then again, being in the city I always wanted to go to is enough. Now I have more reasons to come back - I have unfinished business in New York!!

Orlando, Florida was the 2nd stop for the two week US trip. While my dad was attending his conference, my mother, brother and I spent most of our time shopping/visiting the outlets on the either side of International Drive and some nearby malls. The only frustrating thing about the trip to Orlando is that DisneyWorld, Universal Studios and Seaworld were 10-30 minutes away  from our Hotel but we didn't get to visit any of these theme parks. We did get to visit Disney Epcot, only because  it was part of the conference and we were there for just a few hours and the venue was situated at the  least visited part of the park.

Georgia was the 3rd and final destination for last year's US trip. On the first day, we spent the whole day in Atlanta, going to different spots like the CNN Headquarters, the Olympic Park, the World of Coca Cola (where my brother and I tasted all coca cola products in the world), and The Georgia Aquarium. The Second day we spent the whole time shopping, going from one store to another. it was Crazy shopping, i tell you!  the third day, was spent apple picking and visiting a pumpkin farm

THREE: REUNIONS

2008 was about reunions too.

Weddings on both sides of the family (Perez and Florendo) served as a time for the family to get together. Although we didn't really get to catch up and mingle with one another it was nice to see everybody again.

After officially leaving Dumaguete in December of 2007, I came back for the very first time in April, and then again on May and then most recently on November 2008. Of course that meant being reunited with my brods and sis  as well as friends from college. I failed to attend the org's 44th which was a drag because while everybody was having fun, i was stuck in my room studying about plants. But then again I did get to hang out with them everytime i was there, so it's okay.

6 years since high school graduation.
The year wouldn't be complete without the high school get together  we do every December. This year was one of the best get together we ever had. One because a lot of people actually came and it was more organized. We really didn't expect a formal dinner! I guess everybody is growing up. LoL

FOUR: MEET UPS

There are people you've met and became friends in the most unconventional ways, right? This year, i got to meet three of them   personally.  Of course everybody knows about the Meet up with Marcus in New York. Who wouldn't forget about that, it was definitely one of the high lights of my New York Trip. Then there's Apple, who i first met in the blogosphere that eventually became my schoolmate for one semester and then King, a close friend's friend from college, textmates since 2007, who i met when i came back to Dumaguete in April. He let me practice my driving with his car - no accidents, just a close call.

FIVE: DYING, ALMOST.

Try turning blue for the third time in your whole life. This one was particularly scary because I almost almost had a respiratory arrest.  It started with a simple case of cough and colds, then became complicated due to exposure to Manila's Polluted Air. I really though I would die, for real! Thank God I'm still alive!

SIX:  WEIGHT LOSS

before and after pic pa tlga, eh noh?

Unexplained weight loss.  Believe me,  I only attempted to lose weight one time, for a month.. in August.. It wasn't even a full whole month in the gym, more like 3 weeks of 2 hour 4 days session a week in the gym. I stopped and thought that I might just gain it all back after  wards, and then I also thought that the US trip will make me gain more weight too, but it didn't.. apparently. Whatever I'm doing might actually be working, i hope i can maintain this even with my bum state and the lack of physical exercise. Hehehe

SEVEN: HIGH SCHOOL

My social circle in dagupan is limited to friends from high school. So now that I am back,  i had the  chance to hang with them- a lot this year. Birthdays,  moviescoffeedinners and occasional night outs. December, particularly became "high school month" if there's a such.

EIGHT: LONG HAIR MOMENTS.

Yes, yes, "long hair moments" equals to boys.
I'm not a player, mind you. it's not my fault they come in and out of my life. LoL
But one particular boy, got my heart. ayii!

i won't say another word.  :P

Monday, January 5, 2009 @ to the boy who took me to dinner in new york!

Marcus and i have been debating when and how exactly we met. We really had no idea or we simply just forgot how. In october, I decided to make a entry entirely "devoted" to him and to thank him for our new york meet up. So i had to rummage my yahoo inbox and reread our emails.

So I found his very first email dated May 26th 2004.

"Hey, I dont really know who you are, but I was looking for a song by summer sunshine, and I came across your site. Good job!!! =). Anyways whats up? Btw, my name is Marcus, and I'm from Canada, u? See ya. Good luck.

Bye bye.
Marcus"

The rest is history.

In our facebook friends detail, we have:

'You travelled to NYC in the fall of 2008
You met randomly in 2004: long story

randomly, yes. long story, well, not really. I guess Mr. Google brought us together! LoL!

Emails, , txt messages, packages, post cards, IMs.

and then September came.

We all know what happened in september. I was visiting new york with my family and marco came down to new york to spend on whole day around manhattan with me and took me to dinner in New York.

Lately he has become my emotional toilet for all my boy troubles. He was one of the first person to know about TJ, the high school guy. He was the first one to know about our very first fight.. and the more to come fights about petty things. He wasn't the first guy who knew that we got together because he was in Prague (travelling again and didn't take me with him hehehe) that time. but he was the very first person to know that we broke up and also the first person to know that Tj was trying to get me back. And now he knows about francis too (someone i met in the hospital) . Now he accuses me of being a player because I was talking to 3 guys at the same time - tj, francis and him. Hehehe

But anyway, we plan of meeting up again in the future. Not sure where and when, maybe in NYC again. Who knows! We plan on taking a trip together in the future. We don't know where, but thats for sure!

To make up for my still "unsent postcards" from my 2008 travel escapades, I'm making entry dedicated entirely for him for his birthday. I know it's days late, but better late than never, right?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARCO!! I HOPE YOU HAD FUN ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.
yay, now your as old as me! hehehe

*HOPE YOU DON"T MIND I GRABBED UR PICTURE FROM YOUR FACEBOOK. HEHEHE

So much for being a "blogger", i haven't made a decent blog entry since November. So i guess i have to make a run down of what has been happening (that needs documentation, that is) this month.

December has, surprisingly, been activity-filled . Well, not because of the christmas parties here and there -oh no no no, i've only been in two and that's because my dad wants me to tag along but because aside my role as a "dakilang utusan" of the family by doing some errands, there were  more spontaneous bondings with some high school friends and "someone" has been filling up those boring days at home by just talking to me all day. Heehee

December 1, 2008

 Cmy's birthday dinner.
I'm kinda surprised that she even invited me. I mean we're not really close and we didn't belong to the same group of friends in high school and we didn't we get to see each other much during our college years. But what the hey, it was fun to catch up with her and with lesley and sam too.. Then I found out that she was taking the NMAT too, and that like me, she wasn't reviewing for the exam. hehe Confident lng kmi! hahaha

december 3, 2008

Twilight Night with the Baleeeerrr girls.

We saw the last full show of Twilight on the first day it was shown here. It was a school night so we were saved from the sights and sounds of girls getting giddy over Edward Cullen. Yes, we all fell in love with Edward Cullen but only during the whole duration of the movie. After that, we were joking around the "Baleeer!" expression we picked after we saw the Baler trailer.

December 5, 2008

In my attempt and from someone's pestering  that I do something with my hair, and as part of my project 2009 Make over, I decided to have my straight but untamed hair, rebonded for the very first time.

the night before my brilliant idea of having my hair rebonded popped out of my head i decided to get a virtual make over and played around with the hair styles. Say hello to jem with the afro brown hair. cool mehn!!

December 8-10 2008

IV Therapy Training -
The only thing related to my profession that I did in the last 7 or 8 months is this IVT Training. I knew no one and I was planning to be that perky friendly girl just so I can I have someone that will be willing to have me insert him/her with an IV without holding a grudge on me! LoL Thankfully, I saw someone familiar - a classmate from High school! It was a 3 day seminar, boring at some parts. Met some new people from our table, had a crush to my seatmate who's kinda cute. I wasn't able to get his number but i stalked him over friendster so now were friends! LoL

December 12, 2008

The Bar. -
Rina got tickets for the Bar (she won it over the radio! LOL)  and invited claudine and angelica and I to come along coz she really wanted to go. Gica came even though she was nursing a fever that night. Honestly, mukhang wala talaga syang sakit. Hehehe Saw some familiar faces there, people from high school and a classmate from my botany class last semester. Madami lang naman na lasing kasi free ang drinks! I decided to surprise everyone by going wearing a dress. LOL. Wala lng, nafeel ko magpakagirly!

December 14, 2008

NMAT. -
I thought i'd be able to discipline myself reviewing by myself, but guess what, i didn't even finish answering the practice test that came with the kit. I really tried, but just after an hour of sitting down with my reviewers, I was up doing something else. Maybe if I took it last year, I'd be able to get a higher score coz at least last year, i'd still have some stuck knowledge somewhere on my brain from reviewing for my board exam. But what the heck, at least I wasn't the only one who didn't review for it coz my batchmates from high school, Garri and C-my, didn't review for it either - I'm not alone!!

I didn't get to finish the first part due to time contraints. I got stuck at th quantitative part, so what i did, during the last few minutes, i panic shading! LoL.  the time alloted for each test was unfair, i still say it should be 1 minute per item. hehhe

December 16, 2008 is LOVE.
*WINK* WINK*

December 19, 2008

Say hello to the newest addition to my Mac family - the iPhone.  Mother gave me zee iPhone as a advance christmas gift, i guess. My brother got his a few days ago he got it for a bargain (well somewhat - loyalty rewards stuffs),  so she decided, well i actually asked, then boom! it was just less than P800 for 12 months and they pay the same monthly bill anyway for the upgrade plan, so there, an iPhone for me!!

December 19 -21, 2008

That weekend, my brother together with Mel and raphaella came home to visit. Raphaella is big now, she can walk more steadily and can speak more understandable words now. in the terrible twos stage now so imagine the "tantrums" hehehe. at least now her orientation phase takes shorter now. I just think by the time we see each other again, we're back to our orientation phase again.   heheheh

Here she is trying to help clean the dining area. LOL

December 21, 2008

Again, one of those spontaneous bonding with some high school buddies. Sam and les invited me for a movie but since I've already seen twilight, i decided to ditch the movie part (and because I was talking with TJ over the phone and YM) and just go after the movie. So we met at City Mall. I didn't know mel was coming and that she brought with her Jo Cris, a batchmate who transferred to Manila during Grade School. I honestly don't remember her, coz i don't think we ever became classmates and by 5th or 6th grade she was in manila already. Had dinner and plato wraps and then went to their (jo Cris' Place) to the next town to crash her sisters' inuman session with their friends. We went home around 1 na..

im looking forward for more activities for the last week of december. there's still Christmas, IVT Completion and High school reunion after christmas. And then come january, it's time to go and get a job! hahaha

Saturday, December 6, 2008 @ Christmas Wishlist

Last year, I didn't make a wish list. I only wanted one. It came a bit late.. 2 months after christmas, but well, I still got it. This christmas, well i, I'm gonna be a little materialistic (an-unattainable)! There's nothing wrong with wishing. HAHAHA

Anyway, Since everyone is putting up their wish list for christmas, i decided to put up mine as well.. for fun.  I know no one would be getting one for me, but what the hey!  Christmas is season of giving, so GIVE GIVE GIVE!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA

here's what i have so far. just a few of them I really really really want to have.

Just $19.99 for a year. Don't worry, just one year subscription, i'd pay for the succeeding years. I love my multiply, and I'll do anything to keep my stuffs. I just need a safe (additional) back up for my pictures until i've had them all printed out.

The iPhone. who wouldn't want to have one? LOL. I just want a new phone. lol

This one is for my mac. Mother dear didn't want to buy me on even thought she knows I'm technologically jinxed. it extends my insurance coverage to up 3 years. I don't have a job yet, so i can't save up for this one as of the moment..
13.3" Macbook Keyboard Silicone Skin Cover.
I'd get this one for myself, but I'm a little short lately, so someone? anyone?

and for Tj to stop being a brat, controlling and demanding person.
(hehehe)

Friday, November 28, 2008 @ Catch me if you can.

Remember when I was inquiring at this "certain local hospital", (let's call it Hospital A) about their  trainings and / or volunteer thing  at their hospital and then refused to give me more information about the training because at that time I didn't have my license yet?

Well a few days ago, i had the chance to be with the chief nurse on a trip to manila with father dear and another "big" guy from that hospital A's administration (they were going to attend a health administrators conference thingie, and then all of a sudden, the chief nurse invited me to apply for work there - a few times actually. I said I'm going to think about it. I still have my heart set on the nation's biggest government hospital (Hospital B).

and then, this afternoon when I came to her office to register for the IVT training that I am attending 2 weeks from now, she asked again.. a number of times actually. and then, on her nth time to ask me, she said she'd accompany me to see the Dr. SOMEONE, who happens to be the chief something something of the hospital. [ at this point, i realized that it could have meant being hired right there and then] I refused and said, I'll see. and continue asking her what are the requirements just incase i decide to apply , just so i wouldn't sound too rude for turning down her offer. I mean who gets offered a job by the chief nurse herself, right?

That's for rejecting me last june.  CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!

But then again, i really need a nursing career right now. A NURSING JOB. The thing with accepting her offer is just that, by the time I push my luck [still waiting for the date for submission of credentials] on getting in Hospital B and if i pass the exams and the interviews, then i have to resign after only a few months of working in Hospital A. and well, that is just plain rude. I just can't commit right now. I just can't be tied up when there's a chance of getting hired in Hospital B. ( i'm confident like that because i have "connections" on both hospitals! hehehe) I'd probably go for training or volunteer work. i'd accept that.. para naman my nursing career na ako!!. Basta lng I'm not tied up.

If  HOSPITAL A is OKAY with me resigning just after a few months so i can work in HOSPITAL B, and then, WHY NOT DBA? eheheheh

I just badly need to do something nursing related right now.
